We can trust the President

Official photographic portrait of US President...

To lie.

It use to be that we looked up to the Office of the President.  Then Bill Clinton had his fling with an intern there.  Then Obama and the short sleeve, feet on the desk attitude.  Now, lies from the podium or Oval Office.  It doesn’t matter.  All that matters is, are the President’s lips moving?  Yes?  He’s lying.

Gee, if I like my health insurance policy, I can keep it!  Or can I?

An extreme anti-Muslim’s YouTube video led to the first American Ambassador’s death in 30 years.  Or did it?

He didn’t know about “Fast and Furious”, He didn’t know (though he signed the waiver that permitted it) that private information, placed by applicants at the Obama Care website “has no expectation of privacy.”

His official surrogates say only that the cancellation of policies are “not very many” comparably speaking – but its everything to the cancer victim that can’t find an adequate sub for their cancelled policy.  Besides, that policy that covered the cancer patient’s needs – was an inferior product that needed to be ended.  Right?

We are hearing such outright lies, fabrications and weak excuses out of this Obama administration, that one must once again ponder why the wisdom of Lincoln isn’t implemented by one of his “admirers,” the current president/resident at the White House?

The pearl of wisdom ignored:

“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

Events, not words, will continue to condemn this sad excuse for a President.

Shocked and Shocking in the “Casa Blanca” tradition

Woke up this morning with some sense of anticipation.  Went in, turned on the TV, went to C-SPAN 2 hoping to watch what has been held out as dramatic expected testimony.  Three highly placed “Whistle-blowers” were going to spill all regarding Benghazi and the cover-up that brought Obama election victory in November 2011.

Some speculate the results of the testimony before the House committee, could result in the impeachment and removal Obama from office of President.

Got to C-SPAN 2 and there saw the banner as one-minute speeches on not-so-interesting topics were being given by members of the House.  The banner read that the hearings were on C-SPAN 3!!

I don’t think there is a television on the planet that has C-SPAN 3!!!

Given that my Netbook was not working well, I couldn’t get to C-SPAN 3!!  Fox News I understood from listening to the Rush Limbaugh show, was doing wall to wall coverage.  Unfortunately I don’t have access to Fox.  But no worries… surely this major news event would get coverage elsewhere.

To my “shock” and “surprise” – there were no other media outlets with coverage.  Later I would catch the gripping story of the witnesses via re-broadcasts once I got to a real computer (I hate my netbook and it’s linux os!).

But how many other’s will have that testimony?  Delayed for 8 months, and now buried by the media, these courageous whistle blowers deserve better – as do the four who died for their country – largely due to the political scheming of those ambitious for a presidency (one wanted a second term – the other looking to 2016 to become the first woman president).

SCOTUS redefine religious ceremony… and ignore greater issue

Arberesh Byzantine Catholic Wedding

There is not a church in all the land that does not perform a particular ritual, whereby two people proclaim their devotion to one another until death does them part.

Highly religious in context, I know only the symbolism of the Christian marriage – or Jewish wedding – wherein God is the groom and His people, His bride.  He once divorced his bride Israel.  The wedding feast of the Lamb (Jesus, Second Person of the Christian Trinity), is coming when the Groom comes to gather up the Church (the Bride) and the marriage is performed and done.

All this to ask this:  Why is the state regulating a religious activity via marriage licenses and their legal requirements?  The first marriage licenses were given out in the mid-1800s when some states began allowing interracial marriage, so long as the couple received a marriage license.

Read more: When was the first marriage license issued? | Answerbag http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1863923#ixzz2OsshoDcx

There is a provision in the Constitution forbidding the creation of a federal establishment of religion (federal/national church) in the Constitution – yet here we are with very new practice of licensing of religious ceremonies and potential interference in another of our rights protected:  Freedom of association.

While yes there are legal incorporation of various kinds, friendship is not one of them.  Between intimate partners?  Why?

Government policies and benefits given married heterosexual couples now has opened the unintended confusion of the defining of “marriage” a religious ritual.  It did so by introducing benefits that could be with-held from persons not involved in the required marriage formula.

Thus the attempt (likely successful) to expand that definition of that relationship to “spread the wealth” around to those not fitting the current definition – derived from what is primarily a religious rite, purpose and ceremony.  If state policy is served, does that justify intrusion into a forbidden area of defining and establishing validity of a religious rite?

So what’s the point?  The point is that the government (states in particular, since they are the ones that should be regulating the matter – and federal in that it enforces definitions to gain benefits) need to get out of the marriage business.  As such concerns over one state imposing it’s morality on another disappears!

You’ve got to wonder when “let them eat cake” line coming!

They cut out the White House tours, but not the $184,000 an hour plane rides for our joy riding prez.  He is traveling on some legitimate business – granted.  But how many trips to Hawaii, how much traveling out for golf with Tiger?  How much extravagance will the “vice” prez stack up when he hits foreign shores?

Reported by Drudge:

On it goes.  This is soooo reminiscent of the French aristocracy and its extravagances, that Obama should be shivering in his boots.  Especially as the results of ObamaCare continue to come in.  Already talk of retiring physicians (6 of 10 reported to be on this track).  Companies to trim work forces below limits of 50 to avoid mandates for health care.
Meanwhile the senate’s first budget in four years has no cuts and a trillion in new taxes.
When can we come up for air?  When will enough be enough?  Our foreign policies are proving failures on almost every continent.  Benghazi questions go unanswered, and our president storms the middle east with “charm” as his answer to the Israeli / Palestinian conflict.
Oh my aching ears and eyes from seeing /hearing these reports!!
But one thing is certain – hopefully – things must get worse before they get better – before Americans wake-up to the nightmare they’ve installed at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Hate to end on such a note!  Hopefully some will take this comfort below, and to those who cannot, remember – “this too shall pass.”
Psalm 146: 3-5

3Do not put your trust in princes,

in human beings, who cannot save.

4When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;

on that very day their plans come to nothing.

5Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,

whose hope is in the Lord their God.

World Net Daily reports:

“A senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander has warned America and Europe that al-Qaida operatives will soon attack them.

“And a source in the Islamic regime’s Intelligence Ministry told WND that another terror team is about to enter the United States. Should the West not accept Iran’s rights to its nuclear program within six months, the terrorists will attack, he said.”

When you consider that box cutters launched the most devastating attack on United States soil, you have to accept the reality that these kinds of threats, from relatively weak players, are inevitable.

The United States’ Obama administration is feverishly trying to rid itself of all military options, and to portray us as “the good guys” to foreign enemies.  What is not quite realized is that these are not just enemies of the United States.  They are the enemies of freedom loving people everywhere – including within the borders of their own countries.

Below is an admittedly “made-up” quote attributed to George Washington, but it is also a statement that stands on its own wisdom :

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence. From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to ensure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable.

“The very atmosphere of firearms “everywhere” restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”

You know, in light of that advice and admonition, however anonymous it is, perhaps we should realize:  the Second Amendment is just as important against today’s enemies of freedom, foreign and domestic… than any time since our founding.

You have to wonder…

… can this Republic survive its citizens?

“Our constitution is only fit for a moral and religious people. It is wholly unsuited to the governance of any other kind.” John Adams.

Citizens schooled and committed to Western civilization’s values may here be said to fit the republic.  Those who understand something of the fundamentals of republican government wherein the minority protected from tyranny via the Bill of Rights – and so on.

Those who schooled in the fine points of Western civilization may here be said to be fit citizens of the republic.

Unfit in regards to maintaining justice, is the majority that regards its power as untrammeled, where minorities are economic classes as well as religious, national or racial minorities.  “Progressive income tax” would be seen for the discrimination it truly is – and a tithe-style tax preferred.

Unfit in general due to its lack of diligence in searching out the issues of the day and the candidates of the day.

Well, I can criticize what I regard to be abominable decisions of this country’s majority, and the lack of protection afforded by observing of the Constitution by the Supreme and inferior courts.

That fact alone gives me hope that not all is lost forever.  We must work to reclaim the civilization we once had, one that without question sustained a Republic, and a great country.

“FREE” Health Insurance for Everyone!!!! ?????

CNSNews.com) – In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.”

I’m tickled pink and just plain gregarious over this bit of news!  I thought the pain of medical care would go away under our fearless Leader, Kim Il Obama, but now I’m overjoyed to know the pain will gain!

A good thing we turned this over to the government and ignored those Republicans who want to keep health care, and all, ALL, associated issues with health care – in private hands.

Here’s to the all powerful and knowing government of Barack!

Limiting shots – and respect for life related?

Have you heard the politician Leahy, saying that deers have more protection by limiting magazines to 6 rounds than people do?  He concludes we value deers more than humans.

Let’s say some deers have more sense than some humans!  But frankly, the more rounds permitted, the more respect being shown to human life.

We limit defense of it to, let’s say 3 rounds per magazine, than we are not affording more protection of life, but significantly less protection for human life.

You see, that’s the rub:  Guns are for defense.  Yes criminals – as always – will seek to intimidate those they exploit.  It’s a lot harder to do that when the law-abiding citizen can defend themselves with high-caliber, unlimited rounds.

Stop allowing guns to be called out as attack tools.  Rather, quite the contrary, they are defensive tools – protecting innocent life from criminals – and perhaps even as the Founding Fathers viewed it:  protection for personal liberty and freedom against tyrannical governments that might evolve or seize power.

Guns kill people, people don’t kill people????

The logic of the left seems to make our headline meaningful.  But more so is the assertion constantly made that a society bristling with guns is a deadly one.  But quite the opposite is actually true according to a study cited by Ann Coulter in her recent column decrying the poor research (and I decry their lack of journalistic standards as well!) in an article by one of their hacks:

“There is an academic, peer-reviewed, long-term study of the effect of various public policies on public, multiple shootings in all 50 states over a 20-year period performed by renowned economists at the University of Chicago and Yale, William Landes and John Lott. It concluded that the only policy to reduce the incidence of, and casualties from, mass shootings are concealed-carry laws.”  Ann Coulter, Human Events column.

If common sense rules (and I know it doesn’t) – government would be looking for ways to arm citizenry to prevent growth in crime and mass killings.  Rarely does a mass-killer stand up to a simple pistol aimed his way.
